After months of counting down we have finally started our adventure! Two months living out of a very basic campervan as we make our way from Auckland to Queenstown, with around 25 stops inbetween!
I am currently writing from our first destination, The Coromandel, where I’m winding down for the night in the back of the van (who goes by the name of Tommy).
The Coromandel is absolutely stunning; we drove the scenic route from Auckland which runs along the coastline for – quite literally – almost the entire 2.5 hour journey. The Pacific Ocean is ridiculously nice on the eye too; a vivid turquoise that looks almost too good to be real. It’s evident why this area is popular for holidays kiwis and travellers alike.
We’re staying right on the edge of Coromandel Town, about a 2 minute drive in from the coast. It’s a very nice little town but is absolutely tiny with just one main street containing some nice shops and cafés; a lot more like a small village by UK standards.
Our holiday park is really nice; very well kept, very clean toilets/showers, all the facilities we need, a pool and a bouncing pillow (see below)!!
So glad to finally be on the road… we loved living in Mount Eden in Auckland but we can’t wait to see what the rest of New Zealand has to offer!
